Gluon condensation signature in the GeV gamma-ray spectra of pulsars

چکیده
The accumulation of gluons inside nucleons, i.e., the gluon condensation, may lead to a characteristic broken power-law gamma-ray spectrum in high-energy nucleon collisions. Here we show that observed spectra at least 25 sources second Fermi Large Area Telescope Catalog Gamma-ray Pulsars can be well fitted by such function has only four free parameters. It strongly indicates emission from these pulsars is hadronic origin, but with condensation hadrons. known quark-gluon distribution different bound nucleon. This work exposes nuclear $A$ dependence effect, where refers baryon number. Our study reveals under condition $A\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\infty}$, which open new window for eavesdropping on structure compact stars subnuclear level.

Gamma-Ray Pulsars
Gamma-ray photons from young pulsars allow the deepest insight into the properties and interactions of high-energy particles with magnetic and photon fields in a pulsar magnetosphere. Measurements with the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory have led to the detection of nearly ten γ-ray pulsars . Although quite a variety of individual signatures is found for these pulsars, some general characteristic...
متن کاملGamma Ray Pulsars: Observations
High-energy gamma rays are a valuable tool for studying particle acceleration and radiation in the magnetospheres of energetic pulsars. The six or more pulsars seen by CGRO/EGRET show that: the light curves usually have double-peak structures (suggesting a broad cone of emission); gamma rays are frequently the dominant component of the radiated power; and all the spectra show evidence of a high...

متن کاملGeV-TeV Gamma-ray Astronomy
The history of gamma-ray astronomy began in the 1950’s when Hayakawa [1] and Morrison [2] predicted that gamma-rays would be produced via neutral pion decays generated in collisions of cosmic-rays with interstellar matter. Cherenkov observation of air showers was pioneered by Jelly [3] and Chudakov applied this technique to search for gamma-ray signals from celestial sources [4]. Since this ear...
متن کاملGamma - ray binaries : pulsars in disguise ?
LS 5039 and LSI +61◦303 are unique amongst high-mass X-ray binaries (HMXB) for their spatially-resolved radio emission and their counterpart at >GeV gamma-ray energies, canonically attributed to non-thermal particles in an accretionpowered relativistic jet. The only other HMXB known to emit very high energy (VHE) gamma-rays, PSR B1259-63, harbours a non-accreting millisecond pulsar. The purpose...
